Well, technically I asked them to deactivate it, not delete it, because I wanted a download of all my information. They have not sent it. If I don't get it in the next few days, I will log in and delete the account. Per their notice, when you delete the account, it is deactivated for 14 days, during which time they hope you change your mind. After 14 days without a login, they supposedly permanently delete the account.
You are right. Anything you ever posted there is permanently there, whether you want it withdrawn or not.
